Consistent Leadership and Strong Finish Libby Bowling delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 Surf City Marathon, maintaining leadership for the majority of the race. Her initial pace was a remarkable 6:34 min/mile, and she managed to sustain an average of 6:39 min/mile through the first 13 miles. Despite a slight slowdown in the final miles, Libby held a commanding presence in the female category, demonstrating impressive stamina and consistency. She finished with an official time of 3:03:17, highlighting her endurance and speed. Although she experienced some pacing challenges between miles 22 and 25, where her pace dropped slightly, she made a strong comeback by the last mile. Maintaining a competitive edge, Libby secured 3rd place in the female category and her division while placing 52nd overall among 2517 participants. For future races, focusing on optimizing the pacing strategy in the later stages could further enhance her performance. Her overall race execution was commendable.
