Date: Feb. 1, 2026 Participant: Jadzia Nguyen-Khoa #22782 Race: 2026 Surf City Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Consistent Start with Opportunities to Master the Finish Jadzia Nguyen-Khoa maintained a strong pace early in the race, evident with her initial 7:12 min/mile split. She demonstrated dominance in her division early on, securing first place in the F25-29 division through multiple early splits. Her ability to hold a steady pace closer to the 7:00 mark for several miles shows great endurance and pacing strategy. Notably, Jadzia was able to climb to an impressive second place in her division at the 9-mile mark with a strong 6:54 min/mile split. Towards the latter half of the marathon, there was a gradual slowing in pace, concluding with a final average pace of 7:41 min/mile. Her splits from mile 20 through the finish suggest a focus for future improvement could be on maintaining pacing during the final miles to avoid such a decline. Finishing 19th among females and 7th in her division reflects her competitive edge. Continuing to train towards sustaining speed late-race would be advantageous.
