Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Edith maintained an impressive consistency throughout the 2026 Surf City Marathon. She started with a solid pace of 8:10 min/mile for the first two miles, placing her 12th in her division. Mid-race, mile 10 showed one of her best paces at 8:06 min/mile, temporarily boosting her to 16th in the division. Notably, Edith managed to stay within or close to the top 15 in her division until later in the race, demonstrating strong pacing strategy. Towards the end of the race, between miles 20 and 24, Edith's pace saw a gradual increase, reaching 9:44 min/mile at mile 24. While this affected her overall pace to end at 8:37 min/mile, she significantly improved her placement in the last mile, finishing 7th in her division. This indicates that she reserved energy well to execute a strategic push towards the finish. Focusing on even pacing in the later miles could yield even better results.
