Strong Mid-Race Surge and Consistent Finishing Pace Yasuto Takeshita delivered a commendable performance in the 2026 Surf City Half Marathon, navigating the 13.1-mile course with impressive consistency and strong pacing. Taking off at a 7:08 min/mile pace for the first mile, Yasuto efficiently increased his speed, achieving his fastest split between miles 5 and 6, clocking in at a swift 6:23 min/mile. This strategic acceleration helped him move up in his division placements, ultimately earning him a notable finish in the M35-39 division. Despite an 11:21 min/mile split pacing in the eighth mile, which temporarily impacted his overall pace, Yasuto demonstrated resilience by regaining a 6:38 min/mile pace in the following segment. He crossed the finish line with a total time of 1:27:37, averaging a consistent 6:41 min/mile overall. Future efforts might focus on maintaining momentum through the back half of the race to further refine his already solid performance.
