Date: Feb. 1, 2026 Participant: Filippo Amoroso #11931 Race: 2026 Surf City Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles

Consistent Splits and Strong Finish Filippo Amoroso exhibited a steady pace throughout the 2026 Surf City Half Marathon, maintaining an overall pace of 6:42 min/mile and completing the race with an elapsed time of 1:27:48. Notably, Amoroso's performance saw variations in split times, with his fastest mile at a 6:20 min/mile pace during mile 6, showing potential for increased speed. His strategic pacing positioned him well within his division, achieving 5th place in the M40-44 division by mile 3 and finishing 16th overall in that division. Amoroso began the race strong, ranking 22nd in his division after the first mile and progressing to 14th by mile 2. Despite some fluctuations in pace, particularly a slightly slower 6:59 min/mile in mile 11, his ability to finish the last few miles with times in the mid-6:30 range is commendable. For future races, focusing on maintaining those late-race split times could lead to even stronger finishes.
