Consistent Performance with Strong Mid-Race Recovery Samantha Meagher demonstrated a solid performance at the 2026 Surf City Half Marathon. Through the initial stages, she showcased consistent pacing, starting with an 8:43 min/mile in the first mile and steadily improving to 8:22 min/mile at mile 3. Notably, she moved up in gender placement from 7th at mile 1 to 5th by mile 3. Her best segment was mile 3, with an elapsed pace of 8:22 min/mile and overalls at 13th place. While her pace slowed down slightly during the middle miles, reaching 9:29 min/mile at mile 8, she managed a remarkable recovery by maintaining an average pacing of 9:38 min/mile by the end. Samantha's efforts led her to finish with an overall elapsed time of 2:06:20, placing 8th in her gender and 18th overall, out of 12,366 participants. Working on maintaining pace in later miles could enhance future performances.
