Impressive Strategic Pacing Paul Nordin demonstrated strategic pacing during the 2026 Surf City 5K. His first mile was clocked at 7:42, with an improvement in the second mile to 7:03. This impressive increase in pace allowed him to move forward in the standings, climbing from 148th to 103rd overall. Throughout the race, Paul maintained a consistent overall pace of 7:21 min/mile, recording a final time of 22:48 for the 3.1-mile course. In his division of M55-59, he secured 7th place, showing strong competitive performance. A small variance in mile splits suggests a potential area for enhancing endurance, especially in maintaining speed across all segments. Regular interval training might be beneficial to build this resilience and sustain an even faster pace over the entire race distance. Great work, Paul!
