Consistent Performance with a Strong Finish Ankita Yadav, an 18-year-old from Irvine, CA, completed the 2026 Surf City Marathon. Displaying commendable consistency throughout the race, Ankita maintained a steady pace, evidenced by split paces ranging from 8:26 to 9:26 min/mile. Notably, her early miles showed an average pace of about 8:40 min/mile. Even as the splits lengthened in the latter part of the race, Ankita kept her pace within a 30-second range for most of the run, concluding with an overall pace of 9:13 min/mile. Ankita placed 3rd in her FUnder 20 division out of a total of 2517 participants. Her overall time was 4:01:49. Ankitas strong finish during the final mile shifted her position upward. While her pacing was largely consistent, the 11:27 split at mile 16 suggests potential for improvement in the middle stages. Focusing on maintaining a more even pace during mid-race challenges could be beneficial for future events.
