Consistent Pacing and Strong Finish Will Merkley maintained remarkably consistent pacing throughout the 2026 Runtastic TIMP Half Marathon. He started with a steady 5:57 min/mile on the first two miles, enhancing his position from 17th to 12th overall. Maintaining a pace close to or under six minutes for most of the race, his split times varied only slightly, showing significant endurance and control. Will successfully secured 3rd place in the M20-24 division, with an overall time of 1:22:12 and an average pace of 6:16 min/mile. His split performance remained strong, especially notable with a 5:38 min/mile at mile six. Although the last few miles saw a slight increase in pace, which can be expected in longer distances, he improved his divisional rank early on and maintained it throughout. For subsequent races, maintaining the intensity from miles six through ten could enhance overall performance even further. Great effort, Will!
