Strong Early Splits but Gradual Slowdown Ashley Barbarin from Salt Lake City, competing in the 2026 Runtastic TIMP Half Marathon, demonstrated a consistent start with a noticeable effort to maintain pace. Her splits up to the sixth mile were commendable, fluctuating around the 12-minute mark per mile. Especially noteworthy were the splits from 1:00:52 to 1:12:58, where she maintained a nearly identical pace, suggesting effective initial pacing strategy and endurance. However, after the eighth mile, there was a gradual decrease in pace, peaking with a 19:33 min/mile split between miles 10 and 11. Despite this slowdown, she completed the race in 3:10:00, holding a steady position within her division. As a member of Madis peasants, focusing on maintaining a stronger pace in the latter half might enhance her overall performance. Overall, out of 1280 participants, she maintained position effectively. Great potential is evident with slightly adjusted pacing tactics.
