Consistent Early Pace with Solid Finish Amanda Trenkle delivered a commendable marathon performance, maintaining an initial consistent pace and securing the 2nd place position in the F30-39 division. Her early splits were impressive, reaching 7 miles with paces consistently near 7:45 min/mile, highlighted by a strong third mile at 7:17 min/mile. Throughout the first half, Amanda showed strong pacing, managing to stay in the top four for her gender. In the latter half of the race, particularly after the 16-mile mark, slight increases in split times were evident, as the paces gradually rose above 9 min/mile, reaching 11 min/mile in the 24th mile. Despite these increases, Amanda maintained composure and completed the marathon in 3:52:33. Consistency and mental strength were key in her performance as evidenced by her overall 14th place finish in a field of 104 participants. Future focus could include pacing strategies in the final miles to further improve finish times.
