Consistent Splits Propel to Age Group Victory Abbie Wilcox ran an impressive race at the 2026 Casper Marathon in the Half Marathon event, finishing with a time of 2:02:11. Her overall pace was 9:19 min/mile. Notably, she clinched the 1st place in her age division (F20-29) while placing 7th among females and 23rd overall out of 94 participants. Early splits showed solid pacing, with the first mile at 9:19 min/mile and a slight slowdown around the sixth mile at 9:29 min/mile. However, she recovered with a strong finish in the final miles including an 8:15 min/mile during mile 12. Compared to previous performances, Abbie significantly improved her time from the 2024 and 2025 Casper Marathons, where she ran 2:07:31 and 2:08:28, respectively. Her pace improved by 25 seconds from her 2025 performance. The late-race acceleration offers a great example of strategic pacing and stamina. Consistently aiming for faster middle splits could lead to further improvements.
