Steady Improvement with a Strong Finish Nelson Hand delivered a commendable performance at the 2026 Casper Marathon 10K. Starting with an impressive split time of 7:37, he maintained a consistent pace through the first four miles, with his elapsed pace hovering between 7:31 and 7:38 min/mile. His peak was observed between miles 2 and 3, achieving a split pace of 7:28 min/mile. Although a slower pace appeared in miles 5 and 6, contributing to a final elapsed pace of 7:46 min/mile, Nelson showed remarkable progress from his previous race. Compared to the 2025 Casper Marathon, Nelson's elapsed time improved significantly from 1:19:57 to 48:10. Despite the late-race slowing, Nelson maintained his position within his division, finishing strong as the 9th overall.
