Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Sawyer Gilliam executed a remarkable performance at the 2026 Casper Marathon, maintaining a focused and consistent pace throughout. Starting energetically with a 6:37 minute mile for the first split, he established himself near the forefront, maintaining top five positions overall for most of the race. His pacing varied slightly, notably slowing in the later miles, yet he admirably maintained an average pace of 7:53 min/mile across the whole marathon. Notably, Sawyer secured the first spot in the M20-29 division, showcasing his exemplary endurance and preparation. A particularly impressive aspect of Sawyer's race was his strong finish over the final three miles, with two notable 6:31 minute miles in miles 24 and 25. This surge showcased his capacity to finish strong after a long-distance run.
