Consistent Pacing with Notable Late Race Slow Down Christopher started the race with a steady pace, maintaining around a 10:00 minute per mile speed for the first 13 miles. His initial mile was at 11:14, but he quickly sped up, posting several sub-10:00 miles, including a consistent run from miles 6 to 12, where he sustained an average of 9:30-10:00 minutes per mile. Notably, he improved his positioning in his division, gaining ground from 113th to a solid 93rd place by mile 13. In the second half, Christopher experienced a marked deceleration in the final quarter of the event. After reaching a peak speed, an apparent decline was noted from mile 14, leading to a 20:41 split in mile 15. Despite the slowdown, he concluded with a total time of 4:49:58, and an average pace of 11:04 per mile. Strategic pacing adjustments post-halfway would be beneficial for future races.
