Consistent Performance with Strong Finish Paul Sullivan maintained a consistent pace throughout the marathon, achieving an overall time of 3:15:14, with an average pace of 7:27 min/mile. Notably, he captured 1st place in his M55-59 division, marking a successful race in his age category. His splits revealed an impressive consistency with a slight increase in speed towards the end of the race, finishing with a notably fast 6:55 min/mile pace for the last mile. Paul's position fluctuated minimally, maintaining a steady rank despite increased tempo in the final stretches of the race. A key highlight is the strong finish with progressive negative splits, specifically from mile 22 onwards. Focusing on maintaining an earlier steady pace helped secure his divisional victory. Analyzing the mid-race split times, Paul could potentially target a more evenly distributed pace next time to possibly improve his overall standing. In all, these results reflect a well-executed strategy and strong determination.
