Consistent Early Pace Transitions to Challenging Finish During the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, John maintained a strong start with his initial 6 miles averaging a 6:52 min/mile pace. His quickest split was at mile 12 with a pace of 6:44 min/mile. Notably, he climbed through the ranks, advancing from 144th to 124th overall by mile 9. John's placement within his division, M35-39, was consistently in the mid-20s early in the race. In the latter stages, the pace shifted significantly. The substantial increase in split time began after mile 23, climaxing at mile 26 with an 11:06 min/mile pace. John's overall placement adjusted accordingly, finishing 235th with a final time of 3:19:10. Considering pacing strategy, focusing on maintaining speed in the final miles could be beneficial.
