Steady Start and Resilient Finish Michael Marcus maintained a consistent pace during the initial half of the race, with splits ranging from 10:23 to 9:49 min/mile. Notably, between miles 5 and 6, he notably improved his position, climbing from 982 to 839 overall, and to 93rd in his division. This indicates a strategic early race energy preservation which was effectively executed. The latter half of the race presented some challenges with pace. From mile 21 onward, there was a progressive slow down, culminating in a final split pace of 12:28 min/mile. Despite the slowed pace, Michael managed his effort across the marathon's full 26.2 miles, finishing with an overall time of 4:45:42. While the last quarter of the race saw his position fluctuate, maintaining consistency earlier provided a stable foundation. Continuing to build on endurance and consistent pacing throughout can make a big difference in future performances.
