Steady Pacing and Strong Finish Samuel Evers from Sunnyside, NY, completed the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon in an impressive 3:28:48, maintaining a consistent overall pace of 7:58 min/mile. His pacing strategy was evident, beginning with an 8:35 min/mile in the first mile and gradually improving to below an 8:00 min/mile pace. Notably, mile splits from 2 through 7 showed a steady decline in pace, with the fastest being mile 11 at 7:33 min/mile. Samuel significantly improved his position throughout the race. Starting at 455th overall, he advanced to finish 337th out of 1834 participants, moving up 118 positions overall. His rank in the Mens 30-34 division also improved from 63rd to 54th. Efficient pacing and strong mid-race acceleration, especially around miles 11 and 12, contributed to this result.
