Consistent Pacing with Strong Mid-Race Performance In the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, Olexiy Melychev showcased a steady stride, completing the run in 3:27:26 with an average pace of 7:55 min/mile. Over the course of the race, Olexiy's pacing remained consistent, with early mile splits like mile 1 at 8:11 min/mile improving swiftly to faster splits such as mile 6 at 7:33 min/mile, demonstrating a resilient and controlled performance. A notable shift occurred between miles 6 and 10 where the pace was kept under 7:40 min/mile, showing strong mid-race endurance. This effort allowed Olexiy to capture a top 20 finish in the M45-49 division. Although the pace slightly slowed in the latter stages, maintaining a consistent rhythm overall ensured solid results in a competitive field with 1834 participants.
