Consistent Start with Opportunities in Later Stages Seamus Brennan maintained a strong and consistent pace throughout the early stages of the marathon. Notably, his first four miles all clocked in under 8:00 min/mile, with the best pace recorded at 7:44 min/mile in the 5th mile. This consistency allowed him to improve his position significantly, moving up from 317th at the start to 253rd overall by mid-race. The swift 9th mile, clocking a noteworthy pace of 7:26 min/mile, was an impressive highlight. As the race continued, his pace gradually slowed, particularly in the last 10 miles, ranging from 9:32 to 10:43 min/mile. This decline led him to finish in 550th overall. Focusing on endurance and maintaining pace could help in future races, especially during the latter half. Engaging in specific training tailored for long-distance stamina might aid in reducing time loss during these stages. Securing the final spot in division M16-24 out of 1834 participants is commendable.
