Consistent Pace with Opportunities for Speed Maintenance Rich Yap, competing in the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, completed the marathon with a final time of 4:53:00, averaging an 11:10 min/mile pace. His performance was marked by varying split paces throughout the race. Remarkably, between mile 2 and mile 6, his split paces consistently improved, reaching a peak of 9:38 min/mile at mile 4. This section highlights an impressive capacity for maintaining a strong pace early in the race. However, the latter segments saw a gradual increase in split times, with the slowest split recorded at mile 25, clocking in at 14:06 min/mile. Consistent pacing remained a challenge in the closing miles, coupled with a general placement shift from 548th overall early in the race to 1155th by the final mile.
