Steady and Strong Finish with a Fast Last Mile Matt Grubler from Hudson, NY maintained a consistent pace throughout the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, achieving an average pace of 7:53 min/mile. Starting with a steady pace of 7:58 min/mile in the first mile, he gradually increased his speed, wrapping up the final mile with an impressive 7:29 min/mile. His marathon time was 3:26:53, placing 317th overall out of 1834 participants, 251st among males, and 17th in his age division (M45-49). Throughout the race, Matt showcased endurance with a particular highlight in the latter part of the marathon. From mile 22 onwards, he maintained a pace under 8:00 min/mile, and his performance peaked in the final mile.
