Consistent Early Pace, Late Slowdown Jared Deible started the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon with strong pacing. His first mile clocked at 10:27 per mile. Throughout the first 16 miles, he maintained a consistent speed, with mile splits mostly hovering between 9:50 and 10:10 minutes per mile. By the 10th mile, Jared managed to improve his split time to 9:38, showing a good effort in maintaining competitive pacing. However, from mile 20 onwards, there was a notable slowdown. His split pace exceeded 11 minutes per mile starting at mile 21, culminating in a 14:39 split during the 25th mile. Overall, Jared completed the marathon with an elapsed time of 4:38:28, averaging a pace of 10:37 per mile. His consistency in the early stages is commendable, but focusing on maintaining energy and speed could further enhance his performance in future races.
