Consistent Pacing with Strong Mid-Race Performance Katelyn's marathon performance at the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City race showed consistent early splits, maintaining a pace near 7:21 min/mile for the first few miles, with a notable highlight in Mile 9 at 6:56, one of her fastest paces. She initially advanced well, placing 1st in her division by the second mile and maintaining strong overall and gender placements till Mile 16. In the later stages, there was a gradual pace decline, starting from Mile 16 with splits slowing consecutively. The second half of the race showed a deceleration, with Mile 20 being her slowest mile at 9:19 min/mile. By the end, her position in the division was 5th, although still impressive. Encouragingly, pacing adjustments could enhance her performance further in future races. A focus on maintaining speed in later miles could prove beneficial. Overall, her dedication to maintaining a competitive pace is commendable.
