Maintaining Consistency Despite Pace Challenges Caitlin Goss demonstrated consistency in the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon. Her overall elapsed time was 5:48:19, with an average pace of 13:17 min/mile. Notably, her best paces were from miles 5 to 9, where she consistently ran below 12 minutes per mile, with the fastest split at mile 5 completed in 11:49 min/mile. There was a noticeable shift in pace in the later stages. Particularly from mile 15 onwards, the pace lingered above 14:00 min/mile, with the slowest mile being covered at 16:13 min/mile during mile 21. Despite these challenges, Caitlin held a steady pace throughout most of the race and finished the marathon, showing the ability to push through difficult stretches. Attempting to maintain momentum in the later miles could result in even stronger performance in future events.
