Consistent Middle Mile Gains and Strong Division Finish Brian Picardat maintained a consistent pace throughout the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon. Starting with an 11:28 min/mile pace for the first mile, Brian improved his pace over consecutive miles, reaching a 10:15 min/mile pace twice during the 6th and 11th miles. His consistent middle splits, including a strong mid-race split of 10:01 min/mile at mile 12, demonstrate a solid performance. Throughout the race, Brian's placement among his division peers remained steady, finishing 13th in the M65-69 category out of a competitive field. Notably, his overall placement fluctuated as he navigated the course, but he showed increased speed and maintained his rank within the top 15 of his division consistently after mile 5. For future races, maintaining pace during later miles will enhance performance, particularly around the 20-mile mark where his pace dropped to 14:39 min/mile.
