Consistent Performance with Improvements at Key Intervals Patrick Wu completed the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon with an overall time of 4:56:34, maintaining an average pace of 11:19 per mile. Notably, he displayed significant improvement in the early stages of the race, transitioning from an 11:27 min/mile split at mile 1 to a 10:43 min/mile by mile 6. His performance in this early phase contributed to his strong standing, placing him 80th in the M40-44 division at that point. This progression highlights Patricks ability to strategically pace himself as the race developed. While Patrick maintained a consistent pace through much of the race, his performance showed signs of fatigue in the latter miles, with his pace slowing after mile 14. Particularly, the last few miles saw splits extend beyond 12:00 min/mile. For future races, maintaining the strong mid-race pace in the final third could be an area of focus. Overall, Patrick finished 1204th out of 1834 participants, indicating a commendable effort in a competitive field.
