Consistent Pace and Strong Finish in Marathon Erich Griesser delivered a steady performance at the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, completing the 26.2-mile course with a final time of 3:26:08, averaging an impressive pace of 7:52 minutes per mile. Particularly notable was his overall positioning improvement, moving from 351st overall after the first mile to finishing 300th out of 1,834 participants. His division placement as 54th in the M25-29 category highlights his competitiveness. Erich maintained a consistent pace throughout, with most splits close to his average pace. Notably, his last mile was his fastest at 7:01, indicating a strong finish. A slight drop in pace was observed between mile 10 (8:06) and mile 11 (8:30), but he quickly recovered and improved his pace, especially in the final miles. Focusing on maintaining this consistency earlier in the race could potentially improve his final time in future marathons.
