Steady Effort with Opportunities for Strategic Improvement Luke Gellatl completed the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon with an overall time of 5:12:15, averaging an 11:55 min/mile pace. Luke started strong with an improvement in pace from 10:13 min/mile at mile 1 to 9:30 min/mile by mile 2, which helped him climb from 847th to 493rd place overall. Noticeably, he sustained a stable pace around the mid-race mark, achieving a consistent pace close to 9:30-9:44 min/mile through miles 2 to 5, staying steady in divisions and gender placements. While later splits saw a gradual increase in pace, up to 15:35 min/mile at mile 10, a closer look at pacing strategy might be beneficial. A more significant pace reduction was observed after mile 10, with the pace generally transitioning to around 11:40 min/mile into the latter stages of the race. Focusing on maintaining an even effort through the closing miles could result in improved race times and division placements in future events.
