Date: May 24, 2026 Participant: James Leary #62 Race: 2026 Vermont City Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Consistent Stamina with Opportunities for Speed James Leary consistently demonstrated his stamina, maintaining a good pace over the marathon, with an overall elapsed time of 4:55:36 for 26.2 miles, averaging a pace of 11:16 min/mile. Consistency is evident as his split times mostly ranged from 9:46 to 13:57 minutes per mile, with noticeable speed in the mid-race splits - particularly his fastest split of 9:46 at mile 9. This demonstrates capacity for targeted pace improvements. While his speed drifted in some sections, notably during miles 16 and 21, where paces exceeded 13 minutes, James showed resilience, maintaining a competitive standing in his division. Placed 21st out of 26 in the M60-64 division and 735th out of 1245 males, his endurance was clear. Concentrating on even pacing throughout, especially in the latter half, could enhance performance. His ability to maintain a consistent cadence is commendable and a solid foundation moving forward.
