Consistent Performance with Opportunities for Strategic Gains Robert O'Brien ran the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, showcasing consistent pace management throughout. O'Brien's pacing improved notably over the first six miles, with split paces decreasing from 9:58 min/mile to 9:23 min/mile. Notably, between miles 1 and 3, he saw a remarkable gain in his place among his division, achieving first place in the M70-74 category at mile 3 before experiencing a positioning shift later in the race. Challenges arose as the race progressed, with a noticeable decrease in pace occurring from mile 7 onward.
