Steady Opening Splits, Late Race Consistency The race began with a promising pace, highlighted by Alireza's second mile at 12:03 min/mile, advancing significantly in standings from 1308th overall to 770th. Consistency was a strength in the initial section as the third mile matched closely with 12:01 min/mile. However, the pace slightly declined past the halfway mark, reaching 14:23 and 14:45 min/mile around miles 7 and 8. In the latter half of the marathon, splits varied significantly but closed strong between miles 21 to 26 with consistent times of 1:45 per mile. Alireza managed to bring down the overall pace to 13:28 min/mile. Although placing 1412th overall, his execution of maintaining focus through challenging mid-race splits is commendable. A particular focus for upcoming races could be managing mid-race transitions to enhance the already well-executed strong finish.
