Consistent Marathon Splits with Strategic Speed Increases Darren Minnemann showcased a steady pace at the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon with splits highlighting a controlled and strategic run. Adjustments in pace were evident across the early stages with his fastest mile at mile 9 clocking in at 10:58. Initial miles were consistent around the 12:15 pace, allowing room for strategic bursts of speed. Mile 5 and mile 8 both saw sub-12-minute paces at 11:17 and 11:54, respectively, indicating well-timed efforts to improve standings, especially moving from 21st to 33rd in his division during this period. Toward the latter stages, his pace varied slightly but maintained a strong overall consistency. Outside of mile 20 and mile 24, where the pace increased to above 14 minutes, the average pace remained mostly close to 12 minutes per mile. Concluding his marathon in 5:34:06, Darren's consistent pacing and strategic intervals resulted in strong placement finish, keeping him engaged and competitive throughout the event.
