Consistent Early Pacing Wanes in the Marathon's Latter Stages Brandon started strong at the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, holding a consistent pace well under 8:00 min/mile for the first half of the race. Notably, his split time between miles 2 and 3 was an impressive 7:43, while his overall place improved considerably from 293rd to 168th by mile 4. Brandon maintained a solid pace through mile 10 with an overall elapsed pace of 7:52 min/mile, positioning him in 353rd place overall and showing consistent, efficient mid-race managing. However, performance fluctuations emerged from mile 11, where splits began to show a gradual slowing, reaching over 8:00 min/mile. Despite a challenging final stretch with some slower splits, Brandon finished with a respectable overall pace of 8:08 min/mile in 373rd place out of 1834 participants. A focused effort on maintaining split consistency through the later miles can improve his performance in subsequent races.
