Consistently Competitive Performance Throughout the Marathon Jacob Olson maintained a remarkably consistent pace during the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, covering the 26.2 miles at an average pace of 5:35 per mile. Starting strong, he logged a first mile at 5:25 and effectively sustained a similar speed, with slight fluctuations, throughout the race. Notably, Jacob managed to improve his division position in the last quarter of the race, rising from 4th to 3rd place within the M30-34 category by the end. Importantly, Jacob's finishing time was 2:26:27. In reviewing split times, Jacob's initial 5 miles showed an excellent performance, including a standout 5th mile that positioned him 2nd in his age division. There was a noticeable shift with minor slowdowns towards the race's later stages, particularly in miles 15 and 21.
