Consistent Effort with Strong Early Splits Roland Ekstrom started the race with a solid pace of 8:33 min/mile, quickly improving his split times over the first few miles. From miles 1 to 4, he progressively reduced his pace, reaching an 8:04 min/mile average by the 3-mile mark. His early performance was evident, moving from 408th overall to 213th. Roland maintained a commendable steady pace in the middle sections, averaging around 7:44 to 7:47 min/mile from miles 13 to 22, which helped him hold a consistent placing in his division. The later part of the marathon saw a decrease in pace, with splits of 15:30 min/mile at mile 25 and 14:56 min/mile at mile 26. Despite the challenging finish, Roland completed the marathon with an overall time of 3:41:26 and an average pace of 8:27 min/mile. Focusing on maintaining the early consistency through the later stages of the race could yield even stronger results in future events.
