Date: May 24, 2026 Participant: Erik McLysaght #1298 Race: 2026 Vermont City Marathon Distance: 26.2 miles

Steady Start with Room to Finish Stronger Erik McLysaght from Colchester, VT, completed the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon with a total time of 5:46:41. Major strengths were visible in the early miles where Erik ran a consistent pace, notably improving his position from 1024th to 578th overall between the first and third mile. However, after reaching the 6th-mile mark, there were noticeable increases in elapsed times, with the split at mile 7 taking 14:19, compared to just 10:14 at mile 5. Despite this, Erik managed to push through to the finish, wrapping up with an overall pace of 13:13 min/mile. For future races, focusing on maintaining the energy and speed displayed in early stages throughout the latter part of the race could close the gap on finishing times. Well done on completing the marathon!
