Consistent Pace with Late Fatigue in Vermont Marathon Travis Campbell began the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon with a solid start, completing the first mile at a 7:43 pace. His split pace improved and became more competitive through mile 5, ranging around 7:11 to 7:07 min/mile. Initially, Travis advanced significantly from 188th to 96th overall and sustained this pace until mile 3. However, after reaching halfway, at mile 13, Travis maintained a consistent pace between 7:22 to 7:30 min/mile. Despite a strong effort, pacing shifted in the last few miles, with the final two miles slowing considerably to 9:03 min/mile. This resulted in an overall finish time of 3:22:08 at a 7:42 min/mile pace. Notably, Travis was consistent in his division (M30-34), finishing in 44th place. To enhance future performance, the focus could aim on endurance during the later miles. Great job maintaining a consistent pace through much of the race!
