Consistent Pacing Leads to Solid Finish Andrew Pettit's performance at the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon showcased his strong pacing strategy, finishing 238th overall among 1,834 participants with a total time of 3:19:56. Notably, Andrew maintained a steady pace throughout the race, averaging 7:37 min/mile. His most remarkable improvement occurred between the first and second mile, picking up the pace from 7:50 to 6:45 min/mile and advancing from 183rd to 88th place overall. From miles 6 to 10, Andrew demonstrated impressive consistency, maintaining sub-7:15 min/mile paces, which helped secure his standing. There was a notable increase in split times from mile 20 onwards, averaging above 8 min/mile in the final stretch, suggesting the need for additional endurance training in the latter part of the race. Nonetheless, Andrew managed to maintain his overall position in the top 250 and showed great promise, particularly in the 25-29 age division.
