Consistent Effort with Impressive Final Miles Chris Lassy from Essex Junction, VT, participated in the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon and completed the 26.2-mile course in a time of 4:52:38, averaging an 11:10 min/mile pace. His most notable improvement occurred during the last two miles, achieving split paces of 8:59 min/mile and 8:37 min/mile, which demonstrated a strong finish. Throughout the marathon, Chris showed consistent pacing with mile splits mostly in the 11-minute range. Although there was a slight dip in pace between miles 21 and 23, where the pace slowed to 12:36 and 13:14 min/mile, his ability to regain speed in the final stretch was commendable. Placing 84th in his division, Chris's performance indicates effective pacing strategy. Continued focus on maintaining an even pace could enhance overall efficiency in future races.
