Consistent Start with a Strong Finish Starting out strong, the early miles were completed with consistent pacing, averaging between 9:36 and 9:54 min/mile over the first four miles. Notably, there was a significant boost in overall placement from 215th to 105th by the second mile. There was also a standout moment at mile 2, hitting a personal best placement of 17th in the Men's Open division. However, a slow down in the latter half was observed with split times over 11 min/mile from miles 7 to 12. The final mile saw a remarkable pace of 10:50 min/mile, showcasing a strong and determined finish, although the majority of the second half was slower, indicating fatigue or challenges during those portions. Ending the race, the athlete showed consistent speed by maintaining sub-13 min/mile for the last 5 miles, securing a 65th place finish in the Men's Open division out of 70 participants. There's a clear potential for maintaining those early quick splits throughout the race.
