Strong Middle Splits but Late Fade In the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, Jami Lashua demonstrated impressive pacing early on. Starting with a 7:45 min/mile pace, Jami quickly improved, clocking a series of sub-7:10 min/mile splits between miles 2 and 6. During this period, Jami achieved a peak placement of 105th overall. However, after mile 6, Jami's pace began to fluctuate, noticeably slowing from a consistent 7:14 min/mile to 8:27 min/mile by mile 20. Notably, Jami maintained an average pace under 8:00 min/mile until mile 16, showcasing endurance, but eventually registered a significant decrease in speed toward the race's end. The final time of 3:27:33 placed Jami 37th in the M16-24 division out of a total of 1834 participants. Focusing on endurance training could help sustain pace in the latter stages of future races.
