Consistent Start with Gradual Slowdown In the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, Janet showcased a consistent start, keeping her pace below 12:00 min/mile for the first 5 miles. Notably, she managed to improve her division placement from 35th to 30th at the 6th mile, displaying strength in the early stages of the race. Pacing was well-managed through until the middle sections, with splits mostly averaging below 12:00 min/mile until mile 11. As the race progressed, there was a slight increase in pace, particularly noticeable from mile 16 onwards, where pace began to exceed 13:00 min/mile. The final 10 miles saw paces ranging from 13:04 to 16:08 min/mile. Finishing with a total time of 5:47:55 and an overall pace of 13:16 min/mile, Janet can consider focusing on maintaining her initial pace consistency until the later stages. Practice on elongating that pace endurance is recommended to tackle future events with greater efficiency.
