Stellar Start with Need for Late-Race Adjustment Wub Last Dance exhibited impressive speed from the beginning of the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City marathon, maintaining a leading position for a significant portion of the race. His pace was exceptional in the early stages, with the first 10 miles consistently under a 5:50 min/mile, reaching a swift 5:07 min/mile at mile 9. Until mile 16, he maintained first place with a pace near 5:30 min/mile, demonstrating his strong start and competitive edge. The latter part of the race, from mile 16 onwards, showed a noticeable change in pace. The split at mile 18 dropped significantly to 17:21 min/mile. Subsequently, the pace stabilized to around 6:30 min/mile for the remaining miles. Wub Last Dance finished strong, securing an overall 3rd place with a time of 2:47:15 out of 444 participants. Working on maintaining pace in the later stages could enhance overall performance outcomes in future races.
