Consistent Pace with Strong Finish Mike Bessette participated in the 2026 M&T Bank Vermont City Marathon, completing the 26.2 miles with an elapsed time of 4:43:36, averaging a steady pace of 10:49 min/mile. Notably, his splits showed a well-maintained pace in the first half, initially beginning with a 10:34 min/mile pace and gradually improving beyond the third mile, clocking a swift mile at 9:31 for mile nine. Further throughout the race, Mike displayed notable resilience, particularly around the halfway mark at mile 16, finishing with his highest division rank at 15th place out of the Males aged 55-59. There was a small increase in split times during miles 20 to 23, with mile 21 at a slower 12:52 min/mile pace, but he quickly adjusted towards a consistent pace in subsequent miles.
