Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Joyce Parkey #1865 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Ted Lasso Would Call This a Peach of a Performance Joyce Parkey from Richmond, VA, is 57 years young and gave the Glacier Half her best shot with a final time of 3:52:01, averaging a 17:42 min/mile pace. She showed impressive consistency, particularly in the middle of the race. Mile 8 was Joyce's fastest, clocking in at 15:47 per mile way to bring the heat, Joyce! There's room for seeing those paces a little more consistently punchy. Work on those later miles, miles 11 and 12 had an upswing but let's keep that momentum in earlier miles for even fresher legs at the end. Keep that smile bright and keep on running, Joyce, as you placed 47th in the F55-59 division!
