Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Deana Cheek #1285 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Steady Steps and Strong Finish Deana Cheek from North Dinwiddie, VA, put on quite the performance at the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half Marathon. Starting with a steady 14:48 pace in the first mile, Deana demonstrated her resilience by keeping pace around the 15:17 min/mile mark overall. Her strongest split came in mile 6 with an impressive 11:06 min/mile, showing she could kick it up a notch! Throughout the race, Deana's placements varied slightly. She finished with a time of 3:20:25, ranking 29th in her F50-54 division. In the final miles, Deana's pacing showed more consistency and strength, especially with her finish at 15:18 min/mile in the last mile. As she works toward future races, she might find focusing on maintaining that strong mid-race pace throughout will lead to even faster finish times.
