Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Lauran Johnson #1572 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

Steady Grit and a Strong Finish Lauran Johnson from Chester, Virginia, may have started her half marathon journey at a consistent pace of 14:16 per mile, but as the miles stretched on, she braved through, showing a remarkable knack for bringing her best in the final stretches. Her pace at mile 12, clocked at 14:16 per mile, matched her initial split thats what I call consistency wrapped in grit. Considering her age and division, a 28th place finish isnt just a number; its a testament to her commitment and perseverance. Miles 2 and 9 were particular highlights, with swift times of 13:55 and 14:17 per mile, respectively. It's clear that a little strategy might help avoid the slowdown seen at mile 5, where the split pace reached 27:39. Steady improvements up to the finish showcase Lauran's capability to adapt and refocus. Keep that up, Lauran, and there's no Henhouse in the world you can't run through!
