Date: March 1, 2025 Participant: Krista Smith #2076 Race: 2026 Glacier Half Half Marathon Distance: 13.1 miles Weather: Cool. Perfect running conditions, except for the 21 mph head wind. Partly cloudy Course: Beautiful views of Cable Mountain as runners entered the finish. Steady uphill with a few big climbs, with a net elevation gain of nearly 500 feet.

The Journey to Victory in Pace! Krista Smith from Midlothian, VA, embarked on an exhilarating half-marathon adventure at the 2026 Vacation Races | Glacier Half. Throughout the 13.1-mile course, she achieved an overall time of 3:50:43, with an impressive average pace of 17:36 min/mile. Now, thats what I call a determined spirit! Krista showed consistency across her splits, hitting a standout pace of 15:46 min/mile between miles 7 and 8, which was her swiftest segment. While beginning strong with a steady pace, Krista encountered some fluctuations, yet responded brilliantly toward the end by maintaining a pace below her average in several of the closing miles. Kudos for finishing 60th in her division. Putting in a little focus on those middle miles to keep the pace more even across the race could help even more. Krista's dedication paves the way for even more incredible performances in the future! Keep it up, Krista!
